Adam Werbach

I was elected National President of the Sierra Club at 23, the youngest in its history. I founded the Sierra Student Coalition in 1991, which grew to 30,000 students and still operates today as a student-run organization. At the Sierra Club I worked with the Clinton Administration on the 1.7-million-acre Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument.

After the Sierra Club I founded Act Now Productions and produced The Thin Green Line for the Outdoor Life Network. My 2004 Commonwealth Club speech "Is Environmentalism Dead?" led to sustainability work at Walmart, then the executive board of Saatchi & Saatchi S. I wrote Act Now, Apologize Later (1997) and Strategy for Sustainability (Harvard Business Press, 2009), taught at Stanford, Wharton, and Harvard.

I co-founded Trove, the branded resale platform used by Patagonia, Allbirds, Canada Goose, and Carhartt. At Amazon I served as Global Lead, Sustainable Shopping and launched Climate Pledge Friendly. Today I am Head of Digital and Unscripted TV at Kapital Entertainment, co-founder of Planet 10B, and co-founder of Transparent City, live in nine cities as of June 2026. B.A. from Brown University.
